The Obligatory Donut

It wouldn't be right for me to start learning Blender without making a Donut with the guidance of the Blender Guru. This right-of-passage tutorial introduced rudimentary modelling, sculpting, material system, particle system, lighting, and rendering techniques within Blender.

An Animated Eyecon

I wanted to make an animated Discord icon for Dry Eye Games' discord channel. The initial eyeball that I created in Unreal Engine 4 with EU4's material editor turned out a little strange. I decided instead to modify someone else's 3D model and animate/render it in Blender. I was much happier with that result and learned a little about animating in Blender as a bonus!

Some Spooky Rigging and Weight-Painting

Inspired by games like Gang Beasts and Fall Guys, I became interest in learning about physics-influenced procedural animation in Unreal Engine 4. This also served as the perfect motivation for me to learn about rigging and weight-painting in Blender. I decided to make a ghost character so the rigging and weight-painting would be as simple as possible. After some ugly real-time cloth sim experiments and some weight-painting struggles, I felt pretty satisfied with the result and hope to elaborate on the character in the future to make it more functional and complex.
